Our Solution
For this installation, the customer required a weighbridge office setup with a remote connection to an external PC shed located on the site network. Infotech supplied the office workstation PC for the weighbridge, along with an external touchscreen driver terminal to support the customer’s preferred workflow.
The touchscreen terminal allows drivers or site users to enter the required weighing information directly at the point of operation, helping to streamline the process and reduce the need for manual input from the weighbridge office. In this example, the driver terminal is used alongside our software to select the supplier for the weighing transaction. The same process can also be applied to products being exported from site, with weights captured automatically from the platform or entered manually where required.
The supplied Uni Term units are self-contained Windows-based machines, making them flexible for a range of site requirements. While this installation uses the units as driver terminals for weighbridge operation, they can also be adapted for other weighing, data entry or operational needs depending on the customer’s setup.
As part of the installation process, our engineers tested and assessed the equipment before fitting it on site. This helps ensure the system is correctly configured, connected and ready for use before handover.
The solution can also be configured around each customer’s preferred level of control. For example, where a site requires weights to be locked down and protected from manual changes, the system can be set so that weight values are captured directly from the platform and cannot be modified by the user.
